Garforth: the town at the eastern edge of the metropolitan City of Leeds. The 2001 Census listed 23,892 residents in the Garforth and Swillington ward - 80.57% of which are home owners, 20% more than the average for Leeds. Garforth itself houses around 15,000 of those people and owes its size to expansion in the 17th and 18th centuries, during which the local land owning Gascoigne family ran several coalmines in the area. The surrounding settlements of Micklefield - Kippax - Swillington - Methley and Allerton Bywater are all villages that prospered and grew as a result of the coal industry. Nowadays manufacturing and motor vehicle repair account for more than a third of the workforce in the area. More recent expansion can also be traced to a combination of overall economic success in Leeds and the fact that Garforth is well served by transport links. The A1 and M1 are minutes away and both have recently been linked by an extension of the M1 which passes to the West and North of the town, with two nearby access points at Junctions 46 and 47. The M1 extension has led to rapid development of commercial, light industrial and residential sites clustered around Junctions 46 and 47. There are two railway stations, Garforth plus East Garforth, both on the mainline route between Leeds, York and North Eastern England to Scotland and between Leeds, Selby, Hull and the Yorkshire coastal resorts. Effectively, people can commute to, or visit, a wide variety of destinations quite easily and still live in a self-contained township surrounded by open countryside, woodlands and rural villages. Roger Bernard Crossland was the first in the world to sell UK National Book Tokens online over 15 years ago. Share in his success and advertise here on this the Official Garforth Website 'Garforth Net' for 10 Pounds per month for a business link. Call 0800 6125350 or email: email@example.com If you have no web site to link to, we can build and host you a web page for just 50 Pounds plus a further smaller charge for each additional page. Your website can then be featured here ongoing @ 10 Pounds per month. Shops below in italics, for example The Shop are also available and can be replaced with your business as outlined above. Private individuals may place an advertisement for 1.25 per week - subject to our approval (minimum contract 4 weeks). Goin Local (an amateur 'community site' for LS25) doesn't perform well when it comes to online exposure or publicity - any information or ads placed on that site therefore will rarely be seen by global web surfers. They even publicise on their website that the number of local visitors they get is abysmally low: for the whole of 2014 they only attracted in the region of 221,632 visitors - we now attract more than that each and every month! Garforth Net is not a political website like our two rival sites are and because of this we have the largest audience on the internet. Each day we all encounter enough politics from other media sources, without having to endure this further on our town sites!

Token House Partnership has been operating internet services since 1999 although it has been successful in what it achieves since 1983. Hits to this website during 2015 showed a considerable increase on those for Garforth Net's previous years. We believe this is partly due to our acquisition of both aboutleeds.com plus aboutleeds.co.uk several years back and equates to an even larger number of potential viewers for your advertisement on this page.....the best few pounds you will probably ever spend! Garforth born Roger Bernard Crossland - senior partner - is today one of the most successful e-commerce businessmen in the UK at this time - currently overseeing 100 unique company domain names, as diversified as bookpage.co.uk for ebooks supplied by independents, bookvouchers.co.uk for national book tokens plus eastyorkshirejobs.com also firstbookshop.com and theatretoken.co.uk plus many more. Roger attended Garforth Comprehensive School (now Garforth Academy) and was the founder of Garforth Bookshop in 1987 and the very first in the world to sell UK book tokens direct via the internet. You too can be part of this success, by requesting to be featured on this his town website, or perhaps even advertising on one of their other sites today By continuing to browse on our websites, you automatically agree to the possibility of having tracking cookies stored by us and our online partners, which may identify your habits and other such sensitive information about yourself.
